Andrew and Carly Candlewood travel with their son Danny from California to Mexico in search of a much-needed vacation. They are not as lucky as they think, with tales of missing children and the legend of La Llorona quickly encompassing their vacation.
La Llorona, a dark spirit that haunts a distraught mother, is described as an evil spirit. She lurks at the water’s edge and causes fear in all who encounter her. The spirit attacks the Candlewood family, kidnapping Danny. The family race to save Danny with Jorge, their shrewd taxi driver. Together with the cartel thugs roaming the countryside, they must navigate the power of the spirit.
The Legend of La Llorona opened a small theater on January 7, 2022. It was made available for streaming on January 11.
